What do the indicator lights on a smart electricity meter signify? Why do they sometimes remain steadily lit or flash? Do these indicate a fault or an alarm? The LCD screen alternates between displaying numerical values and text characters, periodically cycling through different information screens; how can I check the total electricity consumption for the current month?

Red Pulse Indicator Light: This red light flashes whenever electricity is being consumed; the higher the power consumption, the faster the light flashes. The light remains off when no electricity is being used.

Yellow Trip Indicator Light: When this light is illuminated, it generally indicates that the user has an outstanding balance and must settle the payment in order to restore electricity service.

If you wish to cycle through the displayed information, you can press the white "Information Query" button. (Typically, the LCD screen automatically updates and switches to the next display page every few seconds-usually every 5 seconds by default-though you can also manually press the "Information Query" button on the smart meter to switch pages.)
